In Isolation

In the wake of COVID-19, get-togethers, dinners with friends, social dancing, and hugs were replaced by social-distancing, quarantine, masks and hand sanitizers. To quote a friend---We gave up all that was good in life, and were only left with chores. As we delicately balanced physical versus mental health, a new perspective on the importance of human interactions developed.

These images were captured with a low resolution IR camera. Color, as we normally think of it, is irrelevant. For me, the strange contrast of familiar scenes and the starkness of these images highlight the feeling of isolation during the pandemic, the importance of connecting with others, and the ultimate irrelevance of the material things in which we surround ourselves.
